8 Inland Empire, CA Inland Empire, CA Full-time Full-time $24 - $26 an hour $24 - $26 an hour The Assistant Librarian, under the direction of the University Librarian, is responsible for the daily operation, organization, administration, general effectiveness, and supervision of the Learning Resource Center.
Essential Functions:
Manage the daily operations of the Learning Resource Center.
Assist students in using library resources to conduct research.
Assist the University Librarian on with researching and implementing learning technologies in the Learning Resource Centers, including computer software and online library resources.
Provide embedded information literacy instruction for academic departments.
Work collaboratively with the college's faculty, staff, and students to improve the academic environment.
Assist the University Librarian in maintaining and developing the electronic and print resources of the library's collection.
Qualifications:
Interest in/knowledge of nursing and allied health fields.
Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Library Science (MLS), or Master of Science in Library Science (MSLS) degree from an American Library Association-accredited program.
One year of experience in a library environment.
Experience providing reference and information services, both in-person and online.
Experience with APA formatting and citation style.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and other computer technologies.
Dedicated team player and collaborator with qualities of self-direction, vision, creativity, collegiality, and leadership.
Knowledge of current and emerging library technology systems.
Experience providing library/information literacy instruction.
Experience working with Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
$24-$26/hr.
Salary depends on experience and education.
