POSITION OVERVIEW The Journeyman Electrician is primarily responsible for electrical work mainly in the commercial field for our growing electrical division.
They will work under supervision of the Electrician Foreman and should have a general understanding of the importance of safety procedures.
The Journeyman Electrician should have substantial knowledge of electrical circuits, and comprehension of electrical assessments, repairs, and installs for commercial projects.
JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES -Ability to maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Company safety protocol and OSHA safety requirements.
-Proper use of ladders, scaffolding, booms and lifts, to work on electrical systems on commercial and other properties.
-Understand the necessary steps to assess an electrical need using testing devices, blueprints, imagery and maps.
-Repair electrical issues by installing and/or replacing wiring, electrical devices, and electrical components.
-Document and relay job information to supervisors after assessing electrical issues.
-Ability to properly diagnose electrical issues by using tools such as voltmeters and other devices.
JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN REQUIREMENTS -Four plus years experience in a Commercial Electricial or related position.
-Exceptional communication skills.
-Attention to detail and ability to convey information accurately to managers, peers, customers, etc -Proficency with local codes and the National Electrical Code.
-Experience reading mechanical and electrical plans a plus.
-Current driver license.
-High School diploma or equivalent.
JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Journeyman Electrician should be able to aid in the following areas that are required to be performed on a daily basis:
-Adherence to all safety standards put forth by the Company.
-Perform inspections and assessments of electrical related items.
-Install, repair, replace specific electrical systems in a safe and efficient manner.
-Properly report updates to Electrician Foreman and Field Operations Supervisors.
-Track supplies, equipment, tools, and machinery for accurate inventory tracking.
-Effectively communicate daily with peers, supervisors, and customers.
TECHNOLOGY/PROGRAMS USED -Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Teams/Etc) -SAGE Service Operations (SSO):
